About
Solid Basis Networks
Our Mission
SBN's purpose is to take the workstations and local area
networks of non-profits, small companies and individuals,
and keep them running on a "solid basis". The
goal is to accomplish this both efficiently and inexpensively.
We therefore stress:
- fully utilizing existing hardware resources;
- adding time-proven commodity products when upgrading;
- quickly
answering user problems; inoculating against future
user error by tutoring during service calls;
- working with clients
at their
comfort level for jargon and technical detail;
- and
working
seamlessly with other vendors (whether as project
leader or team member).
Company Profile
SBN was formed by David Jaffe, an Oregon Native since 2000 (previously,
a proud Marylander). David's IT career began in 1985 as a ComputerLand
sales rep, and 19 consecutive years in computer sales/support
and engineering followed. The positions all shared two themes:
customer support and hardware/software integration.
David started
and ran a computer sales and rental company from 1991 to 1996,
and held positions as Sr. Network Engineer and Systems Engineer
from 1996 to 2001. His experience includes all facets of creating
and upgrading LANs, establishing and debugging WANs, training,
repair and optimization of computers and peripherals, and consulting
on infrastructure and upgrade needs. He is fluent in both regular
English and techno-babble.
